How to get the best from your GP

This page is for people with a mental health problem and for anyone involved in supporting or caring for them. There are some ideas for answers to questions we’ve been asked over the years, although they probably only apply to UK. There are no correct answers to many of these problems, but hopefully some of these ideas may be of use. If you’ve got any other or better ideas, please let us know.

Medicines Management Service

Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has a dedicated Medicines Management Team that provides specialist pharmaceutical support to clinicians, service users and carers.

The Trust is committed to:

  1. Safe and secure handling of medicines
  2. Efficient drug distribution and purchasing
  3. Provision of accurate and independent education and information about medicines to service users and carers.
  4. Information and education for Trust staff and other professionals
  5. Clinical pharmacy activities to enable optimum use of medicines
