What happens if I forget or decide not to take my medicine?

It is very important that you discuss this immediately with your doctor, nurse or pharmacist.

Start again as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next dose then take the next dose as normal. Do not try to catch up by taking two or more doses at once as you may get more side-effects. 

If you have problems remembering your doses (as very many people do) ask you pharmacist, doctor or nurse about this. There are some special packs, boxes and devices that can be used to help you remember.

Service objectives:
The pharmacy service to Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust has five main aims:

  1. Efficient drug distribution and purchasing
  2. Provision of accurate and independent education and information about medicine therapy to service users and carers
  3. Information and education for Trust and other professionals, and voluntary helpers
  4. Clinical activities to help ensure the optimum use of drug therapies
  5. Medicine management to ensure the most cost-effective use is made of resources
